Indiana Recovery Month Celebration Set for Sept. 25

Drug Free Marion County and the Indiana Addictions Issues Coalition will mark Indiana Recovery Month 2010 with a variety of events in downtown Indianapolis on Sept. 25, including a 3K walk, a Recovery Ride for motorcyclists and a Rally for Recovery featuring keynote speaker Karen Freeman-Wilson.Governor Daniels proclaims September as Indiana Addictions Recovery Month

- approximately 640,000 Hoosiers were classified with a serious substance use disorder in the past year
- treatment helps reduce reported job problems, incomplete work and absenteeism by an avg. of 75%
- such services need to be readily available to those in need...
Governor Mitch Daniels officially proclaims September, 2010 as Indiana Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month, calling upon Hoosiers to observe this month with appropriate programs, activities and ceremonies.
